- What You Can Expect -

Loch Ness is a large and deep lake in the Scottish Highlands. It is well known for sightings of the Loch Ness Monster. The waters of this lake offer very low visibility due to the presence of a high quantity of peat coming from the soil of the surrounding area: a phenomenon common to other lakes in Scotland. Loch Ness is the second largest lake in Scotland with an area of 56.4 square kilometres and is considerably deep (230 metres at its deepest point).

The Loch Ness Monster would supposedly be a large unknown animal living in the depths of this lake. Its existence was first advertised in the 1930s when the first photographs appeared. Many believers identify the monster with a surviving plesiosaur. The common nickname given to the monster is Nessie.

Dunkeld is a small town in the Scottish Highlands. The original name is Dùn Chailleann and means Fort of the Caledonians (Caledonii). Caustantín son of Fergus, king of the Picts is said to have founded this town in 820 AD.
